At WorkStream Nonprofit, we believe operational clarity is a powerful form of impact. When your internal systems run smoothly, your team can spend more time advancing your mission, not wrestling with administrative hurdles.

This month, we’re highlighting the core services that help mission-driven organizations scale sustainably. Our back office support model is designed to meet nonprofits where they are, providing capacity and expertise in three key areas:

1. Nonprofit Operations Infrastructure Development:

Our approach translates complex operational and strategic questions into clear, evidence-informed choices that leaders can act on with confidence. By embedding these frameworks into planning, operations, and leadership workflows, we help organizations prioritize initiatives, allocate resources more effectively, and move from reactive decision-making to systems that support sustainable growth and long-term impact.

2. Fractional Operations Management

For organizations seeking ongoing operational leadership, we provide hands-on systems design, project oversight, and strategic guidance without the cost of a full-time hire. WorkStream’s fractional support model allows organizations to remain lean while accessing the expertise needed to grow effectively. Our fractional operations management services include:

  • Financial and Operations Management
Ongoing support to strengthen financial processes, operational systems, and internal controls.
  • Executive Assistance
Dedicated executive support, available for day-to-day operational needs or short-term capacity during periods of growth or transition.
  • Specialized Fractional Staffing

  • Fractional COO and Operations Leadership
Senior-level operational leadership to guide strategy, oversee execution, and align systems with organizational goals.

Upcoming Programs & Opportunities

Growth Readiness Improvement Program (GRIP)

Applications Open Now! Launching February 2nd

GRIP is a free diagnostic and improvement program designed to help nonprofits assess their operational readiness and measurably strengthen it. Using WorkStream’s 10 Indicators of Growth Readiness, the program identifies structural gaps while actively addressing them through guided, practical improvements.

GRIP is highly metrics-driven. Participants begin with a clear baseline assessment and track measurable increases in growth readiness throughout the program. Rather than receiving a static score, organizations see tangible improvement across key indicators as systems are strengthened and priorities are implemented.

Participants leave GRIP with a prioritized action plan, reinforced operational systems, and demonstrable progress toward sustainable, confident growth.

Applications close January 26.

We will select 20 organizations for this cohort. There is no charge to enroll in this program.

Nonprofit Operations Accelerator Program

Applications are Open Now!

Now entering its fourth iteration, the Operations Accelerator Program is designed for nonprofit leaders who are ready to move from “putting out fires” to building systems that support long-term stability. This program brings together 6 organizations in a collaborative learning environment that combines expert guidance with peer support.

Unlike traditional group cohorts, this model is tailored specifically to your organization’s context. You work on your real challenges, with immediate implementation built into every session. The result is a clearer operational foundation, improved workflows, and practical tools your team can use right away.

What People are Saying

“Deena quickly surfaced levers, including executive assistant support, and thinking more deeply about our role scopes, and translated them into concrete next steps. The result was sharper accountability and momentum across our work, which should translate into impact for animals!”  –Aaron Boddy, Shrimp Welfare Project

“If you’re feeling overwhelmed with trying to run an organization, I can’t recommend Deena enough.”  –Kat Woods, Nonlinear

“Deena’s ability to step into a fast-moving organization and provide immediate structure and support has been a huge asset. I highly recommend her to any organization looking for experienced operational leadership.”  –Oliver Zhang, Center for AI Safety

“As an early-stage nonprofit in a transitional moment, the nonprofit operations accelerator was exactly what we needed to help us grow and feel supported. Beyond tools and systems, the accelerator emphasized learning, helping us understand why certain operational practices matter and how to adapt them to our context. Deena’s timeline, resources, and accountability check-ins helped us set up a quarterly planning process, understand how to better evaluate our work, and develop some of our first consistent workflows!”  –Sanjana Paul, Rooted Futures Lab

We look forward to partnering with you to establish your nonprofit’s operational infrastructure to scale and thrive!
